Favorite High School English Teacher

My favorite teacher from all of my schooling goes back to when I was in high school. His name was Mr. Amato. He was one of the only teachers that really did inspire me to do all my work and complete every assignment. All of his students loved him and because of the respect he had with his students it made all of us better learners.

He taught English and Themes and Films. I was lucky enough to have both classes with him and I loved both, even though I always hated English. He made all his lessons fun and always had a smile on his face. He would encourage all his students to go away for college for the education and the experience of being away from home.

I still wish I could have him as a teacher. I still keep in contact with him, and run into him all the time. He had a certain way to make all of his students feel important and he really cared about every one. Mr. Amato would always go out of his way to help a student and he took extra time with the students that struggled to help them catch up to the rest of the class.

You can tell he put a lot of work into making his lessons fun and interesting. I don't remember one day where he was absent or late to class, or even unprepared. He no longer teaches and last time I talked to him he was planning on sailing around the world with his wife. He believed the world was going to end in the year 2012 and he wanted to see as much as he could before that time came just in case the world ended.

I will never forget him and his fun, amazing personality. His class is the only English class I did not mind going to still to this day. I hope he did go out sailing and is loving every second of it because he deserves it after all the students he has helped within his teaching experience.
